  • That took a loooong time!

I can't believe that it is already July 1.  That move took almost a full month!  Phew!  I won't take the time to tell about the entire excruciating move.  Who wants to hear that.  I'm afraid that I would just sound whiny and it would profit nothing.  I will say that this past Monday we were thrilled when we FINALLY got the last of our belongings delivered to our home.  I have quite a few claims to file for damaged items and for the cost of the clothes that we had to buy.  (Our hanging clothes were in the shipment that arrived this week.)

In the interest of setting my priorities, I will not be blogging until I am completely unpacked and I have the house in good order.  Neither of those are currently true.     Or even close to being true!!

Our family continues to adjust to our new surroundings. We very much miss everyone and everybody in Minnesota.  I really miss the familiar.  Every one in our new church has been great and we do look forward to all the new friendships and putting down roots with the church here.

So-- I need to "do the next thing".

Don't be afraid to let go of somethings inorder to grasp something better.

We miss you, too. But we pray to ask that the Lord will guide you as you seek to establish new friendships, and that your familial bonds will strengthen as well.

But my God shall supply all your needs according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19

    1. That we ought not to rest in the world and its enjoyments, but should desire heaven. We should “seek first the kingdom of God.” (Mat. 6:33) We ought above all things to desire a heavenly happiness; to be with God and dwell with Jesus Christ. Though surrounded with outward enjoyments, and settled in families with desirable friends and relations; though we have companions whose society is delightful, and children in whom we see many promising qualifications; though we live by good neighbors, and are generally beloved where known; we ought not to take our rest in these things as our portion. We should be so far from resting in them, that we should desire to leave them all, in God’s due time. We ought to possess, enjoy and use them, with no other view but readily to quit them, whenever we are called to it, and to change them willingly and cheerfully for heaven.

    -Jonathan Edwards
